I don’t usually share my thoughts on the state of Medium, but I do share my thoughts on the state of the world. Medium, it appears, is part of the world. So here we are.

I can’t help but hear Chris Isaak’s voice eerily whispering in my head as I type. “The world was on fire and no one could save me but you / It’s strange what desire will make foolish people do.”

The world is unequivocally on fire. In all senses, from literal to figurative. There is a madness in the air that you can’t avoid inhaling. It’s too apparent, too obnoxious and indiscreet.

Conflict is ablaze from micro to macro-aggressions, and compromise and tolerance seem like long lost friends that took a trip and never made it back to share their wisdom.

Things are frustrating, to say the least. The more involved and attached I get with all of it, the worse the frustration becomes, so I will try to remain at arms length here, keeping things as light as possible.

Artificial intelligence is a reality in the days that run. It’s one we can’t escape from, though there is a fine line between succumbing to its every whim (or those who are running it until it eventually runs itself)
